UGC hook generator

Turn your product into opening lines across the five hook formats that keep outperforming on Meta and TikTok.

Free · No signup · Runs in your browser

e.g. this vitamin C serum

e.g. your skin breaks out two days before an event

e.g. layering five different products

e.g. three compliments on my skin today

01 · Pattern interrupt

Starts mid-thought, so it doesn't read as an ad in the first frame.

  • “And that's why I'll never go back to [the old habit].”
  • “Okay so I just realised [your product] fixed the thing I've been complaining about for years.”
  • “If you're still [the old habit], you need to see this.”

02 · Contrarian take

Challenges what the viewer already believes, so they stop to check if they're wrong.

  • “Stop [the old habit]. Seriously.”
  • “Most people get this completely wrong: [the old habit] is making it worse.”
  • “Everyone says you need to spend more to fix this. You don't.”

03 · Pain point cold open

Names one specific moment of frustration, so the right viewer recognises themselves.

  • “You know that moment when [the frustrating moment]? Yeah. Me too.”
  • “If [the frustrating moment], this one's for you.”
  • “This is for anyone who knows the feeling when [the frustrating moment].”

04 · Transformation reveal

Leads with the after, so the viewer stays to find out how.

  • “[the result]. Here's the only thing I changed.”
  • “I did not expect [the result]. Let me explain.”
  • “[the result], and it's because of one thing.”

05 · Numbers hook

A specific number promises a story with a payoff at the end.

  • “I tried seven different products before [your product]. This is the one I kept.”
  • “After three months of using [your product], here's my honest review.”
  • “$200 later, I finally found [your product].”

Why these five formats

Across the campaigns we run, the same five hook formats keep outperforming. None of them are about the brand: each one works on a specific scrolling instinct, and the product comes in after the hook has done its job. We go through each format in detail in five hooks that consistently outperform on Meta.

Use them as angles, not scripts

Hooks written by brand teams tend to sound like ads. Hand creators three or four of these as starting angles and let them say it in their own words. That's also how we write briefs: outcomes, not lines. See how to brief a UGC creator.

How to test them

  1. Pick two formats and write three variations of each.
  2. Shoot one video, then cut six versions with different first three seconds and an identical body.
  3. After two weeks, put spend behind the winning hook, then test two new formats the next month.
